# Cylc 7.9.7 and 7.8.12 released

A new Cylc 7 release is now [available from GitHub](https://github.com/cylc/cylc-flow/releases).

Cylc-7.9.7 and cylc-7.8.12 are identical except that 7.9.7 bundles a newer version of Jinja2 that requires Python 2.7.

Changes:

- More Cylc 8 compat for cylc review
- Bug introduced by an update to rsync has been fixed
- Fixes a bug where a polling failure on restart caused Cylc to assume the task was running.
