We have made some improvements to the log view in Cylc 8.1.4:
- Log files are now listed in a drop down. You can refresh the list of files whilst the job is running to pick up any new ones.
- The “connected” icon tells you that Cylc is streaming the log file live. If the stream fails (e.g. the login node goes down) you can “reconnect” via the same button.
- All workflow log files are now visible including the workflow configuration files.
- Timestamps can be shown/hidden via a toggle.
- The file path and host name where the log file is being streamed from is now shown.
- You can now click on the job icons (the squares) to view the logs for a particular job, or edit the job number in the ID if you prefer.
- Better indication of when a log is loading, it is now possible to tell the difference between a loading file and an empty file.
We’re not done yet, the Cylc GUI is still very much an active project, expect further enhancements to the log view and other parts of the GUI to trickle through in future releases.
