Is there any way when installing a workflow (or play/reload, etc) to force Cylc to immediately push files to the remote platform instead of it waiting for a task to be triggered? I’ve got a lot more confidence an install of a system has worked when I can see the remote host files are correctly in place (especially when I cannot see the Cylc host VM’s files).
No, that’s not an option.
Trying to recall the reason - probably because the job platform can potentially be determined on the fly, just before job-submission
It’s also possible to change the platform for any job via a broadcast so there is no safe way to do it in advance.
If there is any problem with the remote installation then job submission will fail so you can be confident that, if a job runs, all the workflow files have been installed correctly. Details of what was installed are contained in the log files in log/remote-install.
